At Peace

We are sad to inform everyone that our beloved Randi died peacefully on the morning of 12/29/2011.  She was able to enjoy Christmas at home with her family and entered hospice care two days later.  From her most recent posts, you can read that she was struggling to cope with more and more complications.  She was stubborn, determined and a fighter with attitude to the very end.
We will all miss her dearly and hope that her posts gave you the encouragement and support she welcomed from others coping with this relentless disease.  Always have hope, always stay strong and never give up!

  1. BEAUTY IS AS BEAUTY DOES, AND Randi was a true beauty......She loved and was loved and imparted her exuberance and joy despite her trials and tribulations. Thank you for updating the sad news. Many of us will miss her candor and her focus on her lovely boys and her amazing love for you two for whom she focused her fight for life. Carry on with the spirit of her love and knowing that her struggle will add to the research knowledge to eventually beat this horrible disease. Namaste.

  8. Am so sorry to hear of Randi's passing. I was inspired by her blog. Another mole mate whose blog Randi followed, Andy Wileman died this month too of Stage 4 Melanomas. (http://thewilemansjourney.blogspot.com/) Two warriors lost but I know they are sitting down and meeting each other in person in heaven.

  11. AS I CAME ACROSS THE BLOG TODAY SEEING THAT RANDI PASSED AND STARTED READING ON, IT IMMEDIATELY BROUGHT TEARS TO MY EYES.. MY HUSBAND IS FIGHTING STAGE IV AS WE SPEAK, HE IS ON ZELBORAF, BUT HAS 5 TUMORS IN HIS BRAIN- HE HAS BEEN DOING REALLY WELL THE PAST FEW WEEKS WITH A BREAK FROM THE DR APPTS..AND THE LAST FEW WORDS WERE THAT THE TUMORS IN HIS LUNGS ARE SHRINKING BUT WE DONT KNOW ABOUT THE BRAIN DUE TO THE BLOOD BARRIER.. UNTIL FEB WHEN THEY START AGAIN :(.. SO ONCE AGAIN TODAY MY HEART TURNED RIGHT AROUND AND PUMPED REALLY HARD YELLING AT ME .. SAYING "WITH NORMALITY FOR A FEW WEEKS HOW EASILY I STARTED TAKING MY HUSBAND AND HIS FIGHT FOR GRANTED. GETTING UPSET BECAUSE HE WANTS ME TO SLEEP IN THE WOODS, OR NOT UNDERSTANDING HIS DESIRE FOR QUIET AND NATURE. WELL TODAY GOD SMACKED ME IN THE FACE.. EVERY MOMENT WE HAVE IS SO PRECIOUS, EVERY MINUTE I CAN SPEND WITH HIM IS A TRUE GIFT GOD IS GIVING ME, I NEED TO STEP BACK AND REALIZE HOW THIS HORRIBLE MELANOMA HAS BEEN AN AMAZING LIFE CHANGER FOR ME SITTING IN THE BACK SEAT WATCHING THE PERSON I LOVE BATTLE IN HIS WAY- THANKS FOR MAKING ME REALIZE HOW IMPORTANT MINUTES ARE:)

  14. This is so sad! I never met Randi--I'm Tim's aunt in New Jersey--but I feel like I came to know her a bit by reading this blog. What a warm-hearted, loving person! What a loss this is for everyone who loved her. I wish you all strength and peace in the new year.

  17. I am so sorry to hear about Randi. As the wife of a Melanoma patient I am at a loss as to what to say except please people watch any and all moles on your body for any changes. Do not tan. It is not worth the price you may pay. It can also run in families. My daughter has had a very small melanoma removed recently.

  18. I am so sorry to hear this news. It surprised me because it seemed so sudden. I hope that your family finds peace and comfort in her passing and know that she is resting in heaven, pain free, cancer free, with angel wings wrapped around her. She seemed like a great lady and I'm sure she will be greatly missed!
